When is Eternals coming to Disney Plus?

When will Eternals arrive on Disney Plus? It's a question that many people are asking ahead of the MCU movie's November 5 release date. Thanks to the ongoing pandemic, some people aren't comfortable going to see films in theaters yet. So the possibility of watching Marvel's latest feature film in the safety of their own home would be most welcome.

If you're one of that number, you're in luck: Eternals will be coming to Disney Plus. However, the 26th movie in Marvel Studios' back catalog won't be landing on the streamer on November 5.

Below, we'll explain why Eternals isn't getting a simultaneous day-and-date release. We'll also dive into when we expect the film to land on Disney Plus. Ready? Let's dive in.

Eternals Disney Plus release date

Not yet. As we mentioned above, Eternals isn't coming to Disney Plus on the same day as it arrives in theaters. That's unlike Black Widow, which received a day-and-day launch on Disney Plus and in cinemas.

The Walt Disney Company and Marvel Studios altered their release date strategy for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which launched in theaters on September 3 – and both studios have decided to stick with a similar approach for Eternals.

In an announcement on The Walt Disney Company's website, it was confirmed that Eternals would get a 45-day exclusive theatrical run. That means that it'll be six weeks, at the very least, before Eternals debuts on Disney Plus.

If Marvel and Disney stick to that 45-day plan, Eternals won't arrive on the streaming giant until Monday, December 20. If that changes, though, we'll let you know.

We're not sure yet, but we wouldn't expect it to be. Shang-Chi won't be a Premier Access title when it lands on Disney Plus on November 12, so Eternals shouldn't be, either. Black Widow was when it arrived in July, but that was due to its day-and-date release.

As long as you're a current Disney Plus subscriber, then, Eternals – which is bizarrely being review-bombed at the moment – should be free to watch when it eventually comes to the streamer.

Eternals runtime

Eternals clocks in at two and a half hours long. That's including its mid-credits and post-credits scenes, as well as its end credits.

Thankfully, when it does land on Disney Plus, you'll be able to pause Eternals if you need to take a bathroom break. Or to get up and find those all-important snacks as nobody likes to go hungry while watching an enthralling Marvel movie.
