Save $40 Amazon was offering the incredibly popular Instant Pot Duo Evo Plus for its lowest ever price (at the time) in last year's Labor Day sale. Considering we've seen this excellent pressure cooker go for as much as $167 over the past few years, this one was a real steal. This particular pressure cooker can speed your cook times up by a whopping 70% thanks to its easy-to-use customizable presets that can handle anything from soups, meats, to rice dishes.

The Dyson V8 Absolute cordless vacuum was a slightly older model by the time last year's Labor Day sales kicked off, but it was still a great appliance deal nonetheless. This particular model is known for its exceptionally lightweight build - something that the newer ones haven't quite matched yet. While we might not see this one on sale again, it's very likely we'll see deals at the Dyson site.

Excellent for use all year round and capable of removing particles as small as 0.3 microns across, this impressive piece of tech was close to its lowest ever price at the time.
Whopping discounts of up to 40% on a huge range of large appliances were up for grabs in last year's Labor Day sale at Home Depot. When we mean a huge selection we mean it - everything from refrigerators to cooking ranges to washers was on sale from top brands like Samsung, LG, and Whirlpool. Also available at Home Depot all year round are excellent free delivery options, which are particularly useful for these bulky items.
The other top destination for Labor Day appliance sales was of course Lowe's, which featured just as big of a selection as rival Home Depot. Of particular note was the retailer's big bundle options for specific brands. Nectar is a popular mattress brand that loves to put on seasonal sales and last year's Labor Day was no exception. Up for grabs was a huge $400 discount on a range of premium memory foam mattresses, plus a free set of sheets, pillows, and a protector being thrown in for good measure. That bundle was worth $400 by itself, so this wasn't a small freebie by any stretch of the imagination.
Similarly, Purple's Labor Day sale also offered up free accessory bundles and standalone discounts for those looking to get themselves a fantastic mattress from a quality brand. Purple's sleep bundles included pillows, sheets, and a mattress protector, so again, you weren't exactly getting some afterthought freebies here last September.
Saatva's Labor Day sale offered a whopping $200 discount to all customers who spent more than $1,000 last September - a bigger discount than the one offered over the previous Black Friday. More premium-minded than some brands, Saatva offers six different mattress types for all types of users. Prices generally start around $799 for the brand's popular Saatva Classic mattress.
One of the most popular mattress sales last Labor Day was over at Tempur-Pedic, which offered straight-up discounts on both mattresses and toppers. Its $200 deals on the Tempur-Adapt and Pro Adapt mattresses, and $300 off deals on the LuxeAdapt and Tempur-Breeze were particularly good options last year. Last year's pandemic meant far more of us were working from home than previously, and as you would expect - that meant a ton of activity from retailers. Home Depot's Labor Day sale in particular had a handy coupon code for all customers purchasing more than $300 of home office items including desks, chairs, and storage items to save 10% off their order. This was actually the cheapest price we'd seen, and, all customers also bagged themselves a free pair of AirPods to boot. The OnePlus 8 was one of 2020's best Android flagships - a fact that didn't stop OnePlus itself from offering a really big discount via coupon in last year's Labor Day sale. It was a really tempting price that easily squared up to the latest offerings from Samsung and Apple.
Apple's trade-in discount for the iPhone SE was pretty fantastic at the time of last year's Labor Day sale since the device was pretty damn new. Apple even took devices as old as the original iPhone SE at the time, making it a pretty flexible option for those looking for an unlocked device.
Verizon had a lucrative trade-in program too over last year's Labor Day, including options for the Galaxy Note 20 - the latest device on the market at the time. You could save up to $550 plus get another $150 by switching over from another carrier. AT&T also had a similar saving of up to $1,000 on this device, although only with a trade-in and new unlimited data plan.
There were so many deals on the iPhone 11 Pro at Verizon over last year's Labor Day right that it's hard to even list them. Firstly, you got a flat $350 rebate when you ordered online, plus an additional saving of up to $850 with an eligible trade-in. If that wasn't enough you're also got a whole host of Amazon freebies, plus a $150 gift card if you switched from another carrier.
